This summer brings a lot of excitement to the West Michigan Lakeshore and these upcoming June events and festivals will not disappoint! If you’re new to the area or are thinking of making Grand Haven your home, be sure to visit a couple of these events – there’s a little something for everyone.

Feast of the Strawberry Moon:
Saturday, June 13 – Sunday, June 14, 2015 | Grand Haven Harbor Island
Saturday: 9am – 5pm | Sunday: 9am – 4pm
A historical reenactment of 18th century life along the banks of the Grand River. Step back into 1760 to experience life as it was when fur traders traveled the shores of Lake Michigan as well as period crafts, food and drink, historical demonstrations and military re-enactors. This event is $5/person or $15/family and offers free parking on site.

Spring Lake Heritage Festival:
Monday, June 15 – Saturday, June 20, 2015 | Village of Spring Lake
Founded in 1975, the week-long Spring Lake Heritage Festival has many events for all ages. Spend quality time with your family and friends at the Car Show, Dog Walk, 5K Run/Walk, Family Fun Night, Pickleball Tournament and much, much more!

Sand Sculpture Contest:
Saturday, June 20, 2015 | Grand Haven City Beach
9am – 1pm 
The 33rd annual Sand Sculpture contest is presented by the Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg and features two and half hours of constructing unique sculptures followed by judging and prizes. If you plan to participate in the event, register at the link about to receive your complimentary t-shirt.

Tri-Cities Garden Club Annual Garden Walk:
Saturday, June 27, 2015 | 10am – 4pm
This year’s self-guided walking tour takes you through 8 Grand Haven gardens and will include a plant sale, raffle and garden items for purchase. The Ottawa Shore Plein Aire Artists will also be painting garden scenes in many of the gardens. Tickets are $10 and will be available for purchase at the gardens. Refreshments will be served.

Grand Haven Art Festival:
Saturday, June 27 – Sunday, June 28, 2015
Downtown Grand Haven | 10am – 5pm
Another popular event presented by the Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg. The Grand Haven Art Festival features over 100 local and national artists with thousands of unique, one-of-a-kind art available for purchase directly from the artists themselves.

Farmers Markets
The Grand Haven Farmers Market is open June 3rd through October 28th every Wednesday & Saturday from 8am to 1pm at the Chinook Pier under the green canopy.

The Spring Lake Farmers Markets is open June 4th through October 8th every Thursday from 9am to 2pm at the Harvest Bible Chapel parking lot.

Sunday Art Market
A monthly juried art market showcase at Chinook Pier that features local artists’ work including pottery, fine art, metal works, photography, glass, textile arts, jewelry and much more.

Tuesdays in Central Park
Every Tuesday night features live music all summer long at downtown Grand Haven’s Central Park. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and dinner and enjoy local musicians from 7 – 8:30pm.
